Company Profile MSA Foams Ltd is both a converter of raw foam materials and a sophisticated designer and manufacturer of foam based products. We are proud of our accumulated specific product knowledge and experience, but also of our in-depth understanding of customer requirements. What follows is a synopsis of our company but also a brief history of MSA that spans over 35 years and shows how it has evolved to its current position. |
A management buy-out in 2005 and subsequent change of name to focus on our core competency, has seen MSA continue to offer great quality foam based products: whether for maximum protection of components in transit; for effective control of tools in critical environments; for protection of equipment in cases; for effective cushioning of parts for export packing or even component parts manufactured in foam, such as moulded EPP stowage trays for the automotive industry.
However, in the spirit of continuous improvement we have already made and continue to make numerous additions and enhancements that maintain our position ahead of our competitors. For example, during the last 12 months we have recruited new Office and Production staff who possess valuable skills and experience, we have also introduced a new 3D CAD system (Catia v5), massively upgraded our ERP system and purchased new CNC machinery, band knives and other factory equipment.
Purchased in 1990 by Osmond Group Ltd, the company gradually diversified from traditional export packing (utilising mainly wood and cardboard) and developed a specialism using foam materials and newer CNC milling machines. It was during this period that the notion of using foams for durable transit packaging and new customer markets, such as Automotive and Aerospace, were identified and developed.
Started in 1969 by Messrs Miller, Stanton and Ashton (hence MSA), the company established itself as a successful export packing business focussed on the local marine and MOD industries.
